Goa Tourism Wins Best Responsible Tourism Initiative Award at IITM Hyderabad

Goa Tourism was honored with the Best Responsible Tourism Initiative in India award at the India International Travel Mart (IITM), held from December 6 to 8, 2024, at the HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad. The award was presented by Mr. NSN Mohan, Regional Director – India, SKAL International, and received by Shri Rajendra Tari, Information Assistant, Department of Tourism, and Shri Harish Satlekar, Manager Marketing, GTDC.

The recognition highlights Goa’s commitment to sustainable and regenerative tourism practices. At IITM, the Goa Tourism Pavilion showcased the state as a premier destination for culture, heritage, and diverse travel experiences. The pavilion attracted attention with vibrant displays, interactive engagements, and exclusive travel packages, emphasizing hinterland and eco-tourism circuits along with unexplored destinations.

Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director of Tourism & Managing Director of GTDC, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “This award reflects our dedication to sustainability and community-based tourism. IITM Hyderabad has been an excellent platform to present Goa as a destination offering unique, culture-rich, and responsible travel experiences.”

The event also facilitated strategic partnerships and networking, solidifying Goa’s reputation as a leader in India’s tourism sector.
