In a major push to position Goa as a vibrant year-round destination, Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte chaired a high-level meeting with key stakeholders to outline a comprehensive strategy for promoting Goa during the upcoming monsoon season. The meeting brought together senior officials including Tourism Director Shri Kedar Naik, GTDC Managing Director Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, TTAG President Jack Sukhija, airline and OTA partners, hoteliers, and other tourism stakeholders to drive unified efforts for 2025.
A highlight of the session was the announcement of a 20-week digital campaign, each week centered around a unique Goan theme, supported by a common unified hashtag to enhance online visibility. Hoteliers were urged to offer attractive weekday and weekend packages to align with the themes. The strategy aims to redefine monsoon tourism by promoting Goa’s rich cultural calendar—featuring festivals like Sao Joao and Chikal Kalo—and immersive experiences under the ongoing “Goa Beyond Beaches” campaign.
Minister Khaunte emphasized that monsoon is no longer the off-season, with rising demand from solo travelers, women, student groups, and families. The campaign focuses on curated travel experiences, competitive pricing, and deeper collaboration between the government, airline partners, OTAs like Airbnb and Agoda, and the local hospitality sector. He also stressed the importance of targeting international markets, especially the UAE, to compensate for temporary slowdowns caused by recent events such as the Pahalgam attack in April.
Addressing concerns over misleading portrayals of Goa on digital platforms, the Minister warned against exaggerated and unrepresentative content, stating that future promotions will be regulated to reflect Goa’s true cultural essence. A follow-up meeting is scheduled this week to finalize campaign elements with hoteliers and OTAs, and another session next Monday will focus on restaurant promotions, cultural tourism, and long-term seasonal planning.
Backed by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s leadership, Goa is set to deliver a sold-out monsoon season with meaningful storytelling, impactful campaigns, and collaborative industry support to ensure the world experiences Goa in its authentic, vibrant form.
