The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, inaugurated the Raponkarancho Seafood Festival on December 13, 2024, at the picturesque Arambol Beach. The event celebrates Goa’s rich coastal heritage and seafood culture, drawing visitors from across the globe.
Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, GTDC Chairman and MLA Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Mandrem MLA Shri Jit Arolkar, and Director of Tourism Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, graced the opening ceremony. Traditional Ghumots were presented to dignitaries and guests, symbolizing Goa’s cultural pride and warm hospitality.
The festival features authentic seafood delicacies and a vibrant lineup of performances. Day 1 included acts by Shine On Band, Cosmic Sound, Usman, and OG Shez, creating a lively atmosphere.
Shri Rohan A. Khaunte highlighted the festival’s focus on promoting sustainable tourism and supporting Goa’s fishing community. “This event is a platform to celebrate our rich culinary tradition and coastal heritage while fostering an inclusive tourism ecosystem,” he stated.
Mandrem MLA Shri Jit Arolkar emphasized the cultural significance of the event, calling it “a reflection of Goa’s identity.” GTDC Chairman Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar and Director of Tourism Shri Suneel Anchipaka reaffirmed Goa’s commitment to preserving local traditions through such initiatives.
The festival continues on December 14 and 15 with performances by Purple Rain, Gravity Band, DJ Katrin, DJ Ivan, The Imperial Band, Forefront, DJ Afroz Sayed, and Teri Miko. Visitors can enjoy cultural programs, live music, and traditional Goan seafood, making it a must-attend celebration of Goa’s vibrant coastal traditions.
