GTDC to Host Monsoon Trekking Expedition to Charavane on July 13

The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has announced its upcoming Monsoon Trekking Expedition to Charavane in Sattari Taluka, scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2025. As the monsoon breathes new life into Goa’s hinterlands, the trek offers participants an immersive experience through one of the state’s most scenic and biodiverse landscapes.

The 8-kilometre trail to Charavane winds through dense forests, flowing streams, and varied terrain that includes steep ascents and slippery rock patches. Rich in natural beauty, the route showcases fluttering butterflies, melodious birdsong, and panoramic views of Goa’s untouched wilderness. Moderately challenging, the trek is ideal for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and photography enthusiasts. The expedition is being organized in collaboration with the Forest Department, Government of Goa, and the Goa Forest Development Corporation.

To ensure accessibility, GTDC has arranged transport from key locations across Goa. Buses will depart from Margao Residency and Mapusa Residency at 7:30 AM, and from Paryatan Bhavan, Patto at 8:30 AM, with pick-up points along the way at Birla Junction (Verna), Cortalim, Porvorim, Banasthari, and Honda.

The registration fee of INR 1400 per person, inclusive of taxes, covers transport, breakfast, lunch, and the guidance of trained professional nature guides throughout the trek.

Participants are encouraged to carry rainwear, a change of clothes, trekking shoes, snacks, and binoculars for a complete experience. Smoking and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited, and the activity is not recommended for individuals with physical limitations due to the demanding terrain.

GTDC invites all outdoor enthusiasts to join this monsoon adventure and explore the serene, verdant charm of Goa beyond its beaches.
