Gwalior Tourism Conclave Attracts INR. 3,500 Crore Investment Proposals: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the Gwalior Tourism Conclave has attracted investment proposals worth INR. 3,500 crore, reaffirming tourism as a key driver of economic growth, employment, and cultural promotion.

Speaking at the two-day conclave held at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University campus, Gwalior, Dr. Yadav said that tourism and pilgrimage are gateways to prosperity, and the state being the “Heart of India” is giving special priority to developing its global tourism identity.

Key Highlights of the Conclave

INR3,500 crore investment proposals received; major commitments in hotels, resorts, and tourism infrastructure. LOAs issued to 6 investors for projects worth over INR60 crore, paving the way for significant employment. Foundation stones laid for heritage and tourism works worth over INR. 75 crore, including Gwalior Fort and Phoolbagh development. Launch of Craftgroom e-commerce platform for artisans and Gwalior Fort Master Plan. MoUs with Yap Digital, Crayons Advertising, Zee Entertainment, and Concept Communications for digital promotion of MP Tourism.

Investments at a Glance

Industrialist Shri Sachin Gupta (Survel Land Developers Pvt. Ltd.) pledged the largest share with a INR. 1,000 crore proposal, followed by Shruti Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. and Zone by The Park, each committing INR500 crore. Other investors include Sonia Lodging & Hospitality, Modern Group, and several hospitality and resort developers, totaling 20 proposals across the state’s Gwalior–Chambal and Sagar divisions.

Boost to Heritage and Culture

Dr. Yadav highlighted Gwalior’s rich cultural legacy—home to Tansen and Baiju Bawra—and announced INR. 50 crore for Raja Man Singh Tomar Music University. Jiwaji University has also been sanctioned funds under the PM Usha Scheme. Notably, Indigo Airlines contributed INR. 100 crore from its CSR fund for development works at Gwalior Fort.

The Chief Minister drew attention to Madhya Pradesh’s architectural influence on India’s old and new Parliament Houses, inspired by Morena’s Chausath Yogini Temple and Vidisha’s temple with Sanchi Stupa dome design.

Strong Industry Participation

Over 200 tour operators joined the conclave, with IATO President Shri Ravi Gosain calling it a major platform to showcase MP’s offerings. Actor Shri Piyush Mishra praised the state’s film policy, saying it simplifies shooting and supports theatre traditions. Heritage hotel pioneer Shri Aman Nath (Neemrana Hotels) described Madhya Pradesh as an ideal hub for connectivity and heritage tourism.

Crafts & Local Economy

An exhibition of terracotta, wooden toys, handloom, Sikki art, and dolls impressed investors. The event also celebrated the legacy of Batto Bai Dolls, with her granddaughter Ms. Kamini Bai presenting one to CM Dr. Yadav.
