HAI Reaffirms Support for Tourism-Led Development at Chhattisgarh Tourism Investor Connect 2025

The Hotel Association of India (HAI), the top group representing the country’s hospitality sector, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting tourism-driven growth in Chhattisgarh during the Chhattisgarh Tourism Investor Connect 2025. In his keynote address, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the State’s undiscovered natural beauty, vibrant culture, diversified tourism options and expanding investment potential. The Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and the Secretary of Tourism had a fruitful discussion with HAI Secretary General M. P. Bezbaruah and Deputy Secretary General Charulata Sukhija to examine methods to strengthen industry-government cooperation.

HAI commended the State’s progressive Tourism Policy 2024–2030 and listed major national targets for improving the hospitality sector, including GST rationalisation and infrastructure status for hotels at the government level. At the State level, HAI underlined the need for supportive measures such as industry incentives for hotels, rationalised utility pricing and property tax structures, simpler financing choices and improved ease of doing business to promote sectoral growth. The Association also emphasized that creating a tourist ecosystem that is prepared for the future requires strong public-private partnerships and improved skill levels. HAI emphasized its commitment to seek cooperation opportunities with the Chhattisgarh administration to realize the State’s huge tourist potential.

Chhattisgarh has demonstrated high investment momentum, with plans exceeding INR 6,321 crore in industry and INR 505 crore in tourism—reflecting its growth as both an economic powerhouse and a desirable tourism destination. The State is well-positioned to draw more tourists, investors, and hospitality partners in the next years with an emphasis on infrastructural development, economic diversification, and presenting its rich natural and cultural history.
