Heavy rains and snowfall triggered massive landslides across Himachal Pradesh, blocking 112 roads in Kullu, cutting off several villages, and stranding tourists as the Kiratpur-Manali National Highway remains closed. Restoration efforts are underway, but severe weather has caused extensive damage in Kullu, Kangra, and Chamba. In Kangra, a cloudburst at Rokaru (Multhan) damaged multiple vehicles and endangered 12 houses, prompting evacuations.
Authorities reported one missing person near the Shiva Hydropower project in Palampur, with search operations ongoing. Tribal Pangi Valley in Chamba is completely cut off due to heavy snowfall, disrupting electricity and telecommunication services. The Kullu-Manali road remains blocked, with traffic diverted via Naggar, while power outages continue in Manikaran and Manali.
Heavy snowfall was recorded in Khadrala (20 cm), Kothi (15 cm), and Nichar (5 cm), while Bhuntar received 112.2 mm of rain, making it the wettest location. Keylong was the coldest at -6.9°C. Officials caution that road restoration and power supply repairs may take time, urging tourists and locals to remain cautious until conditions improve.
