The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) has clarified that reports suggesting a limit of four large drinks per guest on New Year’s Eve are incorrect and misleading. Addressing these claims, HRAWI spokesperson Mr. Pradeep Shetty stated that the association has issued no such restrictions.
“As always, we have advised our members to ensure smooth, lawful, and responsible operations during the festive season. Our guidelines prioritize safety, compliance, and guest satisfaction,” said Mr. Shetty. While there is an advisory emphasizing responsible bartending and celebrations, it does not impose limits on the number of drinks served.
The advisory focuses on safety measures such as verifying the age of patrons, managing inebriated guests responsibly, and ensuring safe transportation options like valet services or ride-hailing services such as Ola and Uber. Establishments are encouraged to help intoxicated guests return home safely by hiring designated drivers or arranging alternative transportation.
To enhance safety during New Year’s Eve celebrations, bartenders and staff members have undergone specialized training. “This is a season of celebration, and we want our patrons to have an enjoyable experience. Our guidance simply promotes responsible bartending, responsible drinking, and safe partying,” concluded Mr. Shetty.
