The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has released a detailed advisory to guide its members during the festive season. The guidelines emphasize safety, compliance, and guest satisfaction, covering operational timings, noise regulations, responsible bartending, and service transparency.
Key points include:
- Compliance with local laws for operational hours and securing licenses for special events.
- Strict enforcement of age restrictions for alcohol consumption, supported by visible signage.
- Initiatives like valet and ride-hailing services to discourage drink-and-drive incidents.
- Adherence to permissible noise levels, music cut-off times, and obtaining permissions for live events.
HRAWI acknowledged the Maharashtra Government’s approval for establishments to operate until 5 a.m. on December 24, 25, and 31, 2024. “Our aim is to ensure a festive season that balances enjoyment with compliance, promoting goodwill and safety,” said HRAWI spokesperson Pradeep Shetty.
The advisory also caps service charges at 10%, requiring transparency and fair distribution among staff, and recommends measures like heating arrangements and winter-specific staff training to enhance guest comfort.
Members are urged to cooperate with local authorities and adhere to the guidelines. “Transparency and guest comfort will foster trust and loyalty,” added Chetan Mehta, HRAWI Vice President.
