In a move to add a new dimension to its tourism offerings, the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) is planning to create India’s first artificial beach on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Inspired by global models like Paris Plages, the project will recreate a coastal atmosphere within the city limits. Proposed features include boating, sailing, bungee jumping, beach volleyball, parks, cycling tracks, food courts and hotels, positioning the attraction as a leisure and MICE-friendly destination.
According to officials, the concept is designed to offer Hyderabad residents and tourists a unique coastal experience without traveling to seaside locations, while also strengthening the city’s appeal as a hub for weekend getaways and corporate retreats.
Value for travel agents: The artificial beach presents new scope for day-trip packages, family leisure products and incentive travel experiences. For MICE planners, the venue could serve as a fresh setting for team-building and corporate events, creating cross-selling opportunities for agents.
