
The India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) organised its Members’ Interactive Meeting on August 21, 2025, at The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi, reaffirming its commitment to positioning India as a leading global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination. The session was chaired by Mr. M.R. Synrem, IAS, Chairman, ICPB & Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and attended by senior officials including Mr. Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General, Ministry of Tourism, ICPB Vice Chairman Mr. Chander Mansharamani, Honorary Treasurer Mr. Neeraj Dhawan, Executive Director Dr. Poonam Rajput, Board Members, and key stakeholders from the MICE industry. Highlighting India’s progress, Mr. Synrem said the successful hosting of G20 events and an improved ICCA ranking showcase India’s rising potential in the global MICE sector, with the next milestone being to place India firmly among the world’s top convention destinations. Emphasising the government’s vision, Mr. Srivastava shared that states are being encouraged to set up City Convention Promotion Bureaus to build a sustainable ecosystem for MICE growth. Outlining ICPB’s future plans, Mr. Mansharamani announced that the bureau will organise the Conventions India Conclave (CIC) and State MICE Conclave annually, with discussions underway with Rajasthan, Odisha, and Karnataka. ICPB will also roll out four annual training programs, with the next session in November focusing on marketing India as a convention destination and understanding the bidding process. Plans for domestic and international roadshows in New Delhi, Geneva, and Amsterdam are also on the agenda, along with strengthening the organisation through new recruitments, website upgrades, and advocacy for reinstating the MDA scheme. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Neeraj Dhawan, followed by high tea and a guided property tour hosted by The Imperial Hotel.
