IHG to Triple India Portfolio in Five Years, Targets 400+ Hotels

IHG® Hotels & Resorts is set to more than triple its footprint in India over the next five years, backed by strong owner confidence and sustained demand across business and leisure travel. The company currently operates over 50 hotels in the country and has 80 more in development, taking its total pipeline close to 12,000 rooms.

India delivered a third consecutive year of record signings for IHG in 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the company’s most strategic growth markets globally. This momentum supports IHG’s ambition to reach over 400 open and in-development hotels in India within the next five years.

IHG already has a diversified presence across eight brands in India, spanning luxury, premium and midscale segments, including Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Garner and Staybridge Suites. Further strengthening its luxury and lifestyle portfolio, IHG will debut its Vignette Collection brand in India in early 2026.

Mainstream brands continue to anchor IHG’s scale in the country, with Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express accounting for over 70% of its operating hotels and a majority of the development pipeline. Holiday Inn Express also ranked number one for signings in its segment in Q3 2025 year-to-date. The company’s newest midscale conversion brand, Garner, has gained early traction with signings in Etawah, Kathua, Kutch and Bhiwadi.

Premium and luxury segments are also seeing robust expansion. Crowne Plaza now represents around 25% of IHG’s hotels in development, while voco has signed properties across key cities and leisure destinations, including Srinagar, Goa, Gurugram, Mumbai and Jim Corbett. InterContinental continues to grow across metros and resort destinations, complemented by the strong performance of Six Senses Fort Barwara and Six Senses Vana.

With 51 hotels currently operating across six brands and a strong pipeline set to open over the next three to five years, IHG remains firmly positioned to capture the next phase of growth in India’s rapidly evolving hospitality market.
