IITM Pune and Hyderabad 2025: Strengthening India’s Global Tourism Network

The 2025 editions of the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune (November 27–29) and Hyderabad (December 4–6) successfully concluded, reinforcing their reputation as India’s leading platforms for travel trade networking and industry growth. Organized by Sphere TravelMedia & Exhibitions, the twin events marked 25 years of empowering travel partnerships, bringing together key domestic and international tourism stakeholders under one roof.

Featuring over 400 exhibitors from across India and 15 countries, IITM 2025 showcased diverse travel segments—from leisure, adventure, and wellness to MICE and luxury tourism. Tourism Malaysia and the Nepal Tourism Board were this year’s partner countries, highlighting the event’s growing global reach.

Prominent industry participation

The Pune edition was inaugurated by leaders from the Nepal Tourism Board, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, and the Pune Hoteliers Association, while the Hyderabad edition saw dignitaries such as Smt. Valluru Kranthi, IAS, Managing Director of Telangana Tourism, along with representatives from Tourism Malaysia, TAAI, SKAL International, and TOAT.

Impressive engagement and business outcomes

The events together facilitated over 10,000 one-on-one business meetings through hosted buyer programs drawing participants from Nashik, Aurangabad, and Kolhapur. Visitor turnout crossed 5,000 travel agents, reflecting robust industry confidence and business interest. Exhibitors reported strong trade leads, signaling growing optimism in both domestic and outbound travel markets.

Tourism and economic insights

This year’s editions also took place against a backdrop of India’s strong economic performance, with the IMF projecting 6.3% GDP growth for FY24–25. Rising disposable incomes, expanding middle-class demographics, and a revival in domestic tourism continue to drive India’s travel growth story. Destinations from Telangana, Gujarat, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Karnataka, alongside international participants from Turkey, Malaysia, Botswana, Vietnam, and the Maldives, showcased their latest offerings to attract Indian travelers.

Industry voices

“IITM continues to reaffirm our commitment to being India’s foremost travel and tourism platform,” said Rohit Hangal, Director, Sphere TravelMedia. “The enthusiastic participation underscores the sector’s resilience and growing dynamism.”
Co-Director Sanjay Hakhu added, “These events not only facilitated valuable partnerships but also inspired dialogues in sustainable and experiential tourism. IITM’s vision remains to connect global destinations with India’s diverse and expanding traveller base.”

With the success of the Pune and Hyderabad editions, IITM continues to play a transformative role in shaping India’s position as a global tourism hub, paving the way for future collaboration and growth in the industry.
