India’s preparations for one of its biggest global sporting spectacles reached a new high as the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) officially unveiled the medals for the IndianOil New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships at Shangri-La Eros, New Delhi. Scheduled from September 27 to October 5, 2025, the event will bring together more than 2,200 para-athletes and support staff from 104 countries, competing across 186 medal events—making it the largest para-sport championship ever hosted in the country.
The medals are designed as a perfect blend of para sport, Indian heritage, and inclusivity. The front side carries intricate traditional Indian art motifs, highlighting para-athletics icons such as a wheelchair racer, a discus thrower, and the lotus, India’s national flower. The reverse embodies accessibility and unity, featuring Braille inscriptions above “New Delhi 2025”, a lotus-inspired design, and bold modern geometric elements. Adding to the appeal, each medal is adorned with a striking blue ribbon, symbolizing sporting spirit and pride.
With this grand unveiling, India has set the tone for a historic championship, showcasing not only world-class sporting talent but also its commitment to accessibility, diversity, and cultural pride on the global stage.
