
Indiatourism Delhi, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, successfully celebrated the culturally colorful Teej Festival on July 28, 2025, at its office on 88 Janpath, New Delhi. The celebration was a vivid showcase of North India’s rich traditions and attracted enthusiastic participation from both domestic and international tourists, along with leading tourism stakeholders, artisans, and performers. The festival delighted guests with traditional folk dances and music from Rajasthan, commemorating the monsoon’s arrival and honoring the legendary reunion of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. Visitors enjoyed live henna (mehndi) application, purchased vibrant bangles at dedicated stalls, and experienced festive decor that evoked the spirit of India’s monsoon celebrations. The aroma of authentic North Indian cuisine further added to the sensory experience, underlining the region’s famed hospitality. The event not only fostered cultural exchange but also offered a valuable platform for local artisans and performers to display their talents. The occasion saw broad participation from representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, various State Tourism Boards, tour operators, hoteliers, ticketing agents, and guides, highlighting Indian customs and traditions to a wide audience and drawing significant attention to the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
