IndiGo has officially commenced operations on two new routes from Bhubaneswar, connecting the capital of Odisha directly with Abu Dhabi and Visakhapatnam. The move significantly enhances both international and regional air connectivity from the state, supporting tourism, business, and cultural exchange.
The inaugural flight from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi was flagged off by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who praised IndiGo’s efforts to make air travel more accessible and affordable for the people of Odisha. This international service will operate three times a week, offering passengers a convenient gateway to the Middle East.
In addition to the Abu Dhabi connection, IndiGo has also launched daily direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam, further strengthening regional ties and providing improved travel options for commuters and tourists alike.
These new routes have been introduced with support from the Odisha government under its New Destination Policy, aimed at expanding the state’s air connectivity network. IndiGo’s expansion aligns with the state’s vision to position Bhubaneswar as a growing aviation hub, catering to increasing travel demand and boosting economic development across the region.
