Indonesia’s Tourism Minister, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, has reaffirmed the country’s commitment to achieving its 2025 tourism goals, targeting 16 million foreign arrivals and 1.08 billion domestic trips by year-end.
Speaking before the House of Representatives, Wardhana emphasized innovation as a key driver in boosting the tourism sector, which aims to employ 25.8 million individuals across various roles. The ministry is also focused on increasing tourism’s economic contribution to 4.6% of GDP and generating up to US$22.1 billion in foreign exchange earnings.
To achieve these objectives, the government is exploring new tools and strategies to enhance Indonesia’s global appeal and strengthen its position as a leading travel destination.
