IntrCity SmartBus Gears Up for a Transformative 2025 with Major Expansion Plans

IntrCity SmartBus, a leading player in the inter-city mobility sector, has outlined ambitious plans for 2025, building on a year of remarkable growth and milestones in 2024. The company, which serves nearly 20-25 lakh passengers annually, reported a 60% surge in summer travel demand and a 20% increase in year-end holiday bookings compared to the previous year.

In 2024, IntrCity added 150 new services and upgraded 80% of its fleet to brand-new buses, enhancing comfort and reliability for travelers. For 2025, the company plans a 50% fleet expansion, aiming to strengthen connectivity across key states, including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

The network’s growth aligns with India’s rising prominence in the global tourism sector, reflected in the country’s improved rank of 39th in the Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2024.

This year also saw evolving travel preferences, with leisure hotspots like Goa, Kerala, and Manali witnessing sustained growth, while spiritual destinations such as Katra (Vaishno Devi) and Ayodhya emerged as high-growth segments. IntrCity also noted an increasing trend of advanced bookings, particularly during the extended holiday season from December 20th to January 2nd.

Concert tourism proved to be a significant driver, with music enthusiasts planning trips for major events. The success of this segment has set the stage for 2025, with international acts like Coldplay expected to fuel further growth.

Manish Rathi, CEO & Co-founder of IntrCity SmartBus, emphasized the company’s focus on innovation, reliability, and comfort as it seeks to redefine inter-city travel in India. “We are committed to setting new benchmarks in the mobility sector while adapting to emerging trends like concert tourism and the growing maturity of Indian travelers,” he said.

With its transformative vision and expansion strategy, IntrCity SmartBus is poised to lead the future of inter-city travel in the country.
