IWIA inaugurated in Delhi; leaders outline ‘Wed in India’ vision

The Indian Weddings Industry Association (IWIA) was formally inaugurated at Hotel Le Meridien here today, marking the launch of a national platform aimed at strengthening and globally promoting India’s wedding industry.
Speaking to Travel World Online on the occasion, Neeraj Dhawan, Founder and Chairman, IWIA, said the association has been formed to create a unified platform for the Indian wedding industry and its stakeholders, including wedding planners, venues, hotels, resorts and farmhouses. He said the focus will be on positioning India as a preferred global wedding destination and encouraging more weddings to be hosted within the country.
Also speaking to Travel World Online, Raghubir Singh, Founder and President, IWIA, said the association’s vision aligns with the Prime Minister’s call for “Wed in India.” He said IWIA aims to ensure that when people across the world think of marriage, India and its culture come to mind as the destination of choice.
Barun Gupta, Founder and Vice President, IWIA, told Travel World Online that the association will work in collaboration with the government and industry stakeholders to promote India’s wedding destinations globally. He added that IWIA seeks to bring together workers, service providers and all industry players on a single platform to support structured growth of the sector.
In his interaction with Travel World Online, Shagun Sethi, Founder and Vice President, IWIA, said IWIA has been created as a consolidated platform for the entire wedding ecosystem, bringing together wedding planners, hotels, boutiques, stylists, makeup artists and allied service providers.
The inauguration of IWIA marks a step towards organised representation of India’s wedding industry, with a focus on destination weddings, industry collaboration and global positioning.
