Kerala Showcases Destination Identity Through ‘Lenscape Kerala’ Exhibition in New Delhi

Kerala is strengthening its destination branding efforts with the inauguration of a curated photography exhibition titled “Lenscape Kerala”, scheduled to open on January 20, 2026 at the Travancore Palace Art Gallery in New Delhi. The exhibition is designed to visually present the state’s diverse tourism landscape, covering natural beauty, cultural traditions and heritage experiences.

The exhibition brings together a carefully selected collection of photographs that capture Kerala beyond conventional tourism imagery. Through visual storytelling, it highlights landscapes, local life, architecture, traditions and lesser-known facets of the destination. The initiative aims to create a deeper emotional connection with travellers by presenting Kerala as a holistic experience rather than just a leisure destination.

New Delhi has been chosen as the launch location to engage a key domestic travel market, including frequent travellers, travel professionals and cultural audiences. Following its opening in the capital, the exhibition is planned to travel across nine Indian cities, expanding its reach and allowing Kerala’s destination narrative to engage audiences nationwide.

This travelling format reflects a strategic approach to tourism promotion, where engagement is built over time rather than through one-time campaigns. By taking the destination story directly to potential travellers, Kerala is positioning itself strongly for upcoming travel seasons while also reinforcing its long-term brand identity.

The initiative aligns with changing travel behaviour, where visual inspiration plays a significant role in trip planning. With travellers increasingly influenced by imagery, storytelling and authenticity, such exhibitions help destinations stand out in a crowded travel marketplace.

From an industry perspective, the exhibition also supports Kerala’s focus on sustainable and responsible tourism. By showcasing culture, heritage and community life, it encourages travel that goes beyond sightseeing and promotes deeper engagement with the destination.

As domestic travel demand continues to evolve, initiatives like “Lenscape Kerala” highlight how destination marketing is shifting towards experience-led communication. The exhibition not only reinforces Kerala’s position as a mature tourism destination but also sets an example of how cultural storytelling can play a central role in tourism promotion.
