Kerala Tourism Launches Eco-Friendly & Nightlife Tourism Project at Aanathazhchira Near Technocity

Kerala Tourism has unveiled a major development project at Aanathazhchira, near Technocity and Pallippuram in the state capital, aimed at showcasing unexplored destinations while promoting eco-friendly and nightlife tourism.

Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas officially launched the initiative by receiving the title deed for 16.7 acres of Revenue Department land at Andoorkonam Grama Panchayat from Revenue Minister K Rajan. Food and Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil presided over the function.

According to Minister Riyas, the project will not only transform the village landscape but also benefit the local community. Minister Rajan highlighted its potential to leverage Aanathazhchira’s strategic location near Technocity, while Minister Anil praised the swift adoption of the proposal considering the area’s immense tourism prospects.

The eco-friendly development will include water adventure sports, a children’s eco-park, and a dedicated cycling track. Nearby, the Freedom Park by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) the first of its kind in the country will feature an exhibition space showcasing the latest startup innovations.

Planned under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the project has been envisioned as a nightlife tourism hub. An Expression of Interest (EoI) for construction activities is scheduled to be floated in September.

The launch event was attended by senior officials and elected representatives including M Jaleel, Chairman, Public Works Standing Committee, District Panchayat; Unaisa Ansari, District Panchayat Member; S Harikumar, President, Grama Panchayat, Andoorkonam; K Majitha Beevi, Vice President; K Soman, Chairman, Development Affairs Standing Committee; and others.

With its blend of adventure, leisure, and technology-driven attractions, the Aanathazhchira project is set to become a vibrant addition to Kerala’s tourism landscape.
