Koh Samui Sees 50% Surge in Indian Travel Interest After The White Lotus Season 3 Premiere

Thailand’s Koh Samui is experiencing a surge in travel interest from India following the premiere of HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3, which was filmed on the island. According to Agoda’s latest data, accommodation searches from India to Koh Samui have increased by 15% compared to the January average and 50% year-over-year, surpassing the global average growth of 12%.

Krishna Rathi, Senior Country Director, India Subcontinent and MEA at Agoda, emphasized the influence of pop culture on travel trends, stating, “Pop culture has the power to inspire travel, and The White Lotus is a great example. With Thailand’s visa-free travel policy for Indian nationals, Koh Samui is now more accessible than ever.”

Following similar tourism booms in Hawaii and Sicily due to previous seasons of the show, Koh Samui is now in the global spotlight. With its pristine beaches, luxury resorts, and vibrant cultural experiences, the island is set to become a top destination for Indian travelers in 2025.
