Korea Tourism Organization Concludes Successful Multi-City Roadshow in India to Boost Outbound Travel

Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) India has successfully wrapped up the first phase of its four-city Korea Tourism Roadshow 2025, held in Chennai (April 23), Bengaluru (April 25), Kolkata (May 21), and Kochi (May 23). The roadshows aimed to strengthen Korea’s presence in India’s outbound tourism market, particularly across southern and eastern regions, through direct B2B engagements and immersive cultural experiences.

Each city hosted a Korea Travel Mart featuring over 10 Destination Management Companies (DMCs) from Korea who connected with India’s top travel professionals across leisure, luxury, FIT, and GIT segments. The events also included high-energy K-Gala Nights attended by key travel trade stakeholders, offering a platform for strategic dialogue and showcasing Korea’s rich culture through traditional cuisine and performances.

A major highlight in Kolkata and Kochi was the live performance by the renowned Korean art group The Painters, whose dynamic visual storytelling and interactive stage acts received an enthusiastic response and underscored Korea’s creative tourism appeal.

Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director for India & SAARC at KTO, said, “These roadshows are part of our long-term strategy to build stronger ties with the Indian travel trade and introduce Korea’s evolving tourism experiences. We are grateful for the positive response in all four cities and are committed to deepening this collaboration.”

The events also featured themed promotional booths inspired by Korea’s traditional markets, allowing attendees to sample authentic Korean street food and gain deeper insights into the country’s cultural diversity. KTO India plans to continue its outreach with more such engagements throughout the year, reinforcing Korea’s position as a top choice for Indian travelers seeking unique, culturally immersive experiences.
