Madhya Pradesh Homestays Offer Authentic Rural Experiences, Boost Local Tourism: Union Minister

Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, and Vice President of Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Shri Mohan Nagar, recently experienced the charm of rural tourism during their stay at Tourism Village Bancha in Betul district. Supported by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, the initiative promotes homestays as a unique way to explore the state’s culture, traditions, and natural beauty. The ministers enjoyed traditional meals, bonfire conversations with locals, and guided forest walks, highlighting the serene and immersive experience these homestays offer.

Shri Uikey praised the initiative, stating, “The peaceful environment, warm hospitality, and local cuisine make Bancha a special destination. This initiative not only enhances tourism but also empowers local communities economically.” Madhya Pradesh has been a pioneer in rural tourism, with 407 operational homestays, including 171 village homestays. Villages like Pranpur, Sabarvani, and Ladpura Khas have already gained national recognition.

Bancha, selected under the “Back to Village” (B2V) program, recently inaugurated five new homestays, further boosting rural tourism. The initiative encourages locals to convert their homes into homestays, creating employment opportunities and strengthening the rural economy. For travelers, it offers a chance to escape city life and immerse themselves in the tranquility and traditions of rural India. Madhya Pradesh continues to set a benchmark in rural tourism, providing an authentic and enriching experience for visitors.
