Madhya Pradesh Showcases Cultural Heritage as Theme State at Surajkund International Fair

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is proudly representing the state’s rich cultural heritage as the Theme State at the prestigious Surajkund International Fair. Visitors are experiencing traditional handicrafts, folk music, and authentic local cuisine, offering an immersive glimpse into the vibrant traditions of Madhya Pradesh.

On Monday, the fair featured captivating cultural performances, including the inspiring play Baiju Bawra, which paid tribute to the legendary music maestro, and the theatrical drama Rani Durgavati, honoring the fearless queen’s heroic legacy. Both performances mesmerized audiences with their powerful storytelling and artistic execution.

Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts & Endowments Department, and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, emphasized the board’s commitment to preserving and globally promoting the state’s unique traditions through this grand event.

The Surajkund Mela, one of the world’s largest craft fairs, has already witnessed performances from 31 countries, making it a significant platform for art, crafts, and cultural diversity. Madhya Pradesh’s participation is elevating the state’s cultural recognition on both national and international levels, reinforcing its position as a key cultural destination in India.
