Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board’s Masterclass in New Delhi forges key industry partnerships

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board recently held the MP Tourism Masterclass in New Delhi, aiming to position the state as a premier tourist destination and foster collaboration among key industry stakeholders. The event, attended by various tourism professionals witnessed participation from the key stakeholders of the industry.

Bidisha Mukherjee, Additional Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, expressed her enthusiasm about the event’s outcomes. “We are excited to organize such an educational event in New Delhi. It strengthens our belief in the importance of collaboration within the tourism industry. We expect the tourism sector will record strong growth in the state going ahead,” she said.

Tourism in Madhya Pradesh has seen a significant surge in recent years, with tourist footfalls tripling to 112.1 million. This growth is attributed to many factors including the state’s rich spiritual heritage, attracting visitors to sacred sites such as Ujjain, Chitrakoot, and Mahakaleshwar.

To further improve hospitality and travel experiences at popular destinations like Indore, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Bhopal and Pachmarhi, the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has launched multiple projects. Aman Mishra, Chief General Manager of MPSTDC, highlighted the board’s efforts in creating comprehensive tourism experiences.

In addition to enhancing tourist infrastructure, the board is focusing on leveraging Madhya Pradesh’s potential as a MICE destination. The state has successfully hosted significant conferences, including those during the G-20 Summit, and is now evaluating properties to host major conferences year-round.

The MP Tourism Masterclass in New Delhi marks a pivotal step in Madhya Pradesh’s journey to becoming a preferred tourist destination. The event has laid the foundation for stronger collaborations within the tourism industry, promising a brighter future for the state’s tourism sector.
