Malaysia Airlines to Launch Daily Trivandrum Kuala Lumpur Flights by December 2025, Boosts India Malaysia Travel with Kerala Tourism Partnership

Malaysia Airlines is set to significantly enhance connectivity between India and Malaysia by expanding its Trivandrum–Kuala Lumpur route. Starting 12 September 2025, the airline will increase services to five times weekly, transitioning to daily flights from 1 December 2025. This move follows the route’s strong demand since its launch in November 2023 and underscores Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to the Indian market, making bookings for the new frequencies available immediately.

The airline’s collaboration with Kerala Tourism under the “Look East” initiative, recently launched in Trivandrum, further strengthens travel and tourism links between Kerala and East Asia. By providing daily flights, Malaysia Airlines aims to offer both business and leisure travellers greater flexibility, convenience, and seamless access to its global network through its Kuala Lumpur hub.

Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group, highlighted India as a key focus market and reaffirmed the airline’s dedication to meeting increasing travel demand in South India. With the new additions, Malaysia Airlines will operate 77 weekly flights across ten major Indian cities, cementing its position as a leading player in the region.

Passengers flying from India can also enjoy the Bonus Side Trip (BST) programme, which grants a complimentary domestic flight to one of seven destinations within Malaysia, allowing travellers to explore the country’s diverse culture, nature, and heritage as part of a single trip. This value-added offering further reinforces Malaysia Airlines’ appeal for Indian travellers seeking both convenience and unique experiences in Malaysia.
