Marriott India Business Council celebrates a decade of “Road to Give” initiative with transformative community impact

In a significant milestone, the Marriott India Business Council celebrated the 10th anniversary of its “Road to Give” initiative, an event that has united Marriott associates in a shared mission of running, walking, riding, and moving to support charitable causes. This decade-long endeavour has grown into a powerful movement, transforming physical activity into a force for positive change in communities across India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

Since its launch, “Road to Give” has reshaped how Marriott associates engage with their communities, channelling physical activities like group runs, walks, cycling events, and wellness challenges into a means of raising crucial funds for local charities. This year, approximately 9,000 to 10,000 associates participated, with the goal of raising ₹1.20 crore to support Rising Star Outreach of India, a Chennai-based NGO dedicated to empowering individuals affected by leprosy through vocational training and social integration programs.

Reflecting on the initiative, Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council, said, “Ten years of ‘Road to Give’ stands as a remarkable achievement, reflecting our associates’ unwavering commitment to service and community engagement. This initiative not only fostered teamwork and camaraderie among our associates but also strengthened our deep-rooted ties to the communities we serve. As we celebrated this milestone, we looked ahead with excitement and determination to continue our journey of making meaningful changes together.”

Over the past decade, “Road to Give” has raised significant funds, supporting various causes in healthcare, education, and social welfare. Through the collective efforts of Marriott associates, the initiative has positively impacted countless lives, creating a ripple effect of kindness and support within communities.

The 10th-anniversary celebration was open to all – Marriott associates, partners, and local communities, inviting participation in events and encouraging donations to support the cause. Each person’s involvement was vital, fostering a spirit of giving that embodied the essence of “Road to Give.” By supporting this initiative, associates not only promoted health and fitness but also cultivated a sense of community and social responsibility that extended far beyond Marriott’s walls.
