Marriott’s Autograph Collection Debuts in South Asia with The Soaltee Kathmandu, Nepal

Marriott Bonvoy has introduced its Autograph Collection Hotels brand to South Asia with the launch of The Soaltee Kathmandu, Autograph Collection in Nepal. This marks Marriott’s 19th brand in the region, expanding its presence across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Located in the heart of Kathmandu’s Tahachal area, the hotel offers 285 rooms and suites that blend traditional Nepali craftsmanship with modern luxury. Panoramic views of the Himalayas, Swoyambhunath Stupa, and lush gardens provide a serene setting for guests.

Originally established in 1966, The Soaltee holds a rich legacy in Nepal’s hospitality industry. Its architecture features local elements such as wooden jaalis, exposed bricks, and Thangka paintings, while its 12-acre property continues to be a preferred choice for dignitaries and luxury travelers.

Dining options include Garden Terrace (Nepali cuisine), Kakori (Awadhi-Indian specialties), Bao Xuan (Chinese), Patio (open-air dining with live music), and Rodi Bar and the Sports Lounge for casual entertainment. The hotel also offers a full-service spa, outdoor pool, tennis court, and a 24-hour fitness center.

For events, The Soaltee provides 25,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor and outdoor space, ideal for weddings and corporate gatherings, all set against the backdrop of the Himalayas.

Committed to sustainability, the hotel features an in-house water bottling plant, energy-efficient systems, herb gardens, and practices that reduce waste and plastic use.

“The Soaltee Kathmandu is a proud milestone as the first Autograph Collection hotel in South Asia,” said Avinash Deshmukh, General Manager. “It blends Nepal’s cultural heritage with the brand’s promise of authentic, story-rich experiences.”

This launch underscores Marriott’s focus on expanding into culturally significant destinations and positions Kathmandu as a key player in South Asia’s growing luxury travel market.
