Yatra bookings indicate positive sentiment towards summer travel bookings have indicated that travellers in India are returning to some levels of travel normalcy with relaxation in Covid restrictions and opening of international borders after a gap of two years.  After two consecutive summers of lockdown, 2022 will be seen as the first summer season wherein people will be able to travel without any restrictions and apprehensions. has observed an average increase in domestic flight bookings by 85% and international flight bookings by 95% of pre-Covid levels. Friends and family comprise a majority part of domestic travel with 40% booking enquires from that particular group.

With increasing interest in exploring places like Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Northeast, and Kashmir, these are the leading domestic destinations people are preferring to travel to. Additionally, as international borders have reopened, Paris, Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Dubai, and Mauritius are the top international destinations for this summer. For international travel, 70% of booking enquiries are from honeymooners and leisure travellers. Domestic and international locations are providing interesting offerings and the travel and hospitality industry has been gearing up with customised services and packages to attract more travellers.
