Moscow is set to host the Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition on December 16-17, bringing together over 129 foreign delegates from 17 countries and more than 750 industry professionals from Moscow and Russia. The event will serve as a key platform for collaboration and development in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.
Countries represented include BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—alongside participants from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The two-day event will feature 13 business sessions with over 50 expert speakers addressing current trends, challenges, and growth opportunities in the MICE industry. Notable sessions include:
- Plenary Session on December 16: “MICE Industry Through the Eyes of the Government,” featuring Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov and Moscow City Tourism Committee Chairman Evgeny Kozlov.
- Panel Discussions: Topics include future MICE infrastructure (led by Manuj Ralhan of Novotel Jaipur Convention Center) and creating ideal MICE destinations (with George Fawzi of Excel Travel, Egypt).
- Plenary Session on December 17: “MICE Industry: Past, Present, and Future,” with global leaders like Gajesh Giridhar of NIMA (India) and Jeff Zhen of Shanghai C&D Wanda International.
Moscow’s commitment to the MICE sector is underscored by its goal to double tourism growth by 2030, increasing business travelers from 3.7 million in 2023 to 8 million. The event highlights the city’s focus on fostering international economic ties, particularly with BRICS nations.
The congress follows the success of the BRICS Tourism Forum held earlier this year, reinforcing Moscow’s position as a hub for business and cultural tourism.
