Mysuru MP Urges IndiGo to Launch Direct Flights to Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Goa

In a push to boost regional connectivity and support Mysuru’s growing tourism and economic landscape, Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has formally requested IndiGo Airlines to start direct flights from Mysuru to Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Goa. In a letter addressed to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, the MP emphasized the strategic importance of Mysuru as a cultural, tourism, and educational hub in Karnataka that draws significant domestic and international footfall.

Highlighting the increasing demand for air connectivity, Mr. Wadiyar stated that tourists, business travellers, students, and local residents would greatly benefit from better flight access to key metro cities. He noted that enhanced air services would not only meet public demand but also significantly contribute to the economic development of the region.

The MP urged IndiGo to explore and introduce these flight routes at the earliest, adding that direct air connectivity to these cities would strengthen Mysuru’s accessibility and support regional growth. His proposal comes amid rising calls from the public and tourism stakeholders for improved transportation infrastructure in and out of the city.
