Nok Air, Thailand’s leading premium budget airline, is set to introduce daily nonstop flights between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and Bangkok’s Don Muang Airport (DMK) beginning October 28, 2024. The new route will be serviced by the Airbus 737-800, equipped with 189 seats, offering a comfortable and affordable flying experience.
To mark this expansion, Nok Air hosted a pre-launch event on October 18 at Radisson Blu Mumbai, attended by key figures including Nok Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Ranon Viputsiri, Thai Consulate General Donnawit Poolsawat, and representatives from the Thai Tourism Authority, alongside major travel agents and tour operators.
Commenting on the launch, Viputsiri said, “This new service is a pivotal milestone for Nok Air as we expand our international network as a premium budget airline. The enhanced connectivity between India and Bangkok will position the city as a major gateway to Thailand, providing travelers seamless access to popular destinations like Phuket and Chiang Mai, as well as hidden gems such as Chiang Rai, Nan, and Trang.”
Nok Air, known for its customer-friendly tagline “We Fly Smiles,” aims to offer an exceptional travel experience at competitive prices. The airline provides two ticket options:
· Nok Air X-tra: Includes 20 kg of checked luggage, 7 kg of carry-on, premium seat selection, inflight entertainment, and a complimentary snack box with water.
· Nok Max: Offers 30 kg of checked luggage, premium seat selection, and a complimentary Indian vegetarian or non-vegetarian hot meal.
India ranks as Thailand’s third-largest tourist market, with over one million Indian tourists visiting Thailand between January and June 2024. In addition to its new Mumbai-Bangkok route, Nok Air will operate 12 flights weekly from India to Thailand, including 4 weekly flights from Hyderabad and 8 from Mumbai, offering travelers convenient schedules and premium amenities.
