Novotel Hyderabad Airport has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Sushil Kumar as Director of Engineering, bringing on board a seasoned hospitality professional with over 13 years of experience across leading hotel brands in India.
In his new role, Kumar will be responsible for overseeing the complete engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel. His mandate includes ensuring seamless functioning of critical infrastructure, utilities and technical systems, while further reinforcing preventive maintenance frameworks, safety protocols and regulatory compliance. He will also spearhead energy-efficiency initiatives and sustainability-driven practices aligned with the hotel’s long-term operational goals.
A key part of his responsibilities will involve managing renovation and upgradation projects, optimising resource utilisation and creating a safe, reliable and guest-centric environment through robust infrastructure management.
Prior to joining Novotel Hyderabad Airport, Kumar held senior engineering positions with prominent hospitality groups including Hilton and IHCL (Taj Hotels). During his tenure, he successfully led major renovation assignments, utility modernisation projects and sustainability initiatives, earning recognition for operational efficiency and environmental stewardship. His technical expertise spans HVAC and electrical systems, energy optimisation, fire and life safety, CAPEX planning and execution of large-scale projects.
Expressing his enthusiasm on taking up the new assignment, Kumar said he looks forward to contributing to a property known for its strong operational standards and focus on guest experience, with emphasis on safety, sustainability and future-ready engineering systems.
