Oyo Affiliate Accused of Cheating Nashik Hotelier in 3 Crore Dispute

In a major blow to hospitality giant Oyo’s reputation, My Preferred Transformation and Hospitality Pvt Ltd—an affiliate of Oyo—has been accused of cheating a prominent Nashik-based hotelier, Mr. Samir Suresh Nahar, in a business deal involving nearly 3 crore.

Mr. Nahar had leased his property, Hotel Suresh Plaza, to the company under a five-year Leave and License Agreement signed on August 1, 2019. The deal included a monthly rent of 4.15 lakh plus GST, along with a clause ensuring full compensation in case of premature termination.

However, within just five months, the company allegedly defaulted on payments, shut down hotel operations, dismissed the staff, and left the property in a damaged state. Despite multiple attempts by Mr. Nahar to resolve the issue through emails and legal notices, there was no response from the company.

Adding to the controversy, Mr. Nahar claims that his signature was forged on a fake lease termination letter circulated via WhatsApp, falsely suggesting that the agreement had been mutually cancelled. He has strongly denied signing any such document and has termed it an act of identity forgery and deliberate deception.

“This isn’t just a breach of contract—it’s criminal deception,” Mr. Nahar said. “Their actions have left me financially devastated and emotionally drained. I trusted them with my livelihood, and they betrayed that trust.”
