Oyo is gearing up to launch a dedicated app and website for its premium hotels and company-serviced properties, signaling a major shift in its strategy to cater to the mid-market and upscale hospitality segments. Sources familiar with the development told ET that the new platform, expected to go live in the next 2–3 months, will initially feature Oyo’s India-based premium hotel and vacation home inventory, eventually expanding to include its global portfolio.
The move comes amid rapid growth in Oyo’s premium property segment across India and international markets. The new app will focus on showcasing Oyo’s upscale brands, including the four- and five-star SUNDAY Hotels, Palette Hotels & Resorts, and its company-managed hotel portfolio. As part of this shift, Oyo is also working on a distinctive brand identity for the new platform, which will include updated staff uniforms, signage, and other visual elements across touchpoints.
Originally launched in May 2023 through a joint venture between SoftBank Group and Oravel Stays, the SUNDAY brand is currently present in 10 countries including India, the UAE, UK, and Saudi Arabia, with plans to scale to 100 properties globally by the end of the next financial year.
Oyo’s company-serviced hotel network has also expanded significantly, now managing over 1,100 properties. In addition, the company oversees more than 75,000 vacation homes worldwide, with a strong presence in Europe. This latest development underscores Oyo’s evolution from a budget hospitality brand to a comprehensive, multi-segment hospitality technology platform.
