PHA to Host 8th National Housekeepers Convention in New Delhi on May 30, 2026

The Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) has announced the 8th National Housekeepers Convention, scheduled to be held on 30 May 2026 at Eros Hotel, New Delhi, bringing together housekeeping professionals and hospitality leaders from across India for a focused exchange on leadership, standards, and operational excellence.

Themed “Stewards of Standards,” the convention will spotlight the evolving role of housekeeping leaders as custodians of quality, safety, consistency, and sustainability in modern hospitality operations. Beyond cleanliness, housekeeping today plays a critical role in protecting brand integrity, ensuring guest confidence, safeguarding assets, and implementing environmentally responsible practices.

The convention carries the title “Leadership in the Art and Science of Housekeeping,” underscoring the dual dimensions of the function. While the “art” reflects attention to detail, aesthetics, and guest-centric care, the “science” represents structured systems, hygiene protocols, technology integration, and performance measurement. The leadership focus reinforces housekeeping’s growing strategic influence on service delivery and operational efficiency.

The narrative of the 2026 edition is anchored around Care – Create – Elevate.
Care emphasizes responsibility toward people, assets, guests, and the environment.
Create encourages innovation, problem-solving, and adoption of smarter tools and processes.
Elevate focuses on continuous improvement, professional growth, and raising industry benchmarks.
Together, these pillars position housekeeping leaders as drivers of excellence in hospitality.

The announcement follows the success of the 7th National Housekeepers Convention, held in Bangalore on 17 May 2025, which drew over 220 delegates, including Executive Housekeepers, Directors of Rooms, Operations Heads, and hospitality solution providers. The 2025 edition featured impactful discussions on talent development, operational efficiency, sustainable housekeeping practices, and technology adoption.

Key highlights of the previous convention included strategic keynotes on workforce empowerment, case studies from leading hotel chains on linen management and cleanliness analytics, supplier-led solution showcases in automation and eco-friendly chemicals, and strong emphasis on skill development and career progression within housekeeping.

Building on this momentum, the 2026 convention will focus on emerging trends shaping housekeeping operations, including AI-assisted workflows, sustainability standards, structured workforce training models, digital quality assurance systems, and process excellence across housekeeping and facilities management.

Commenting on the announcement, Ms. Jayashree Nagaraj, Founder President and Chairperson, PHA, said the role of housekeeping has shifted from a back-of-house function to a strategic pillar of hospitality operations. She noted that the response to the 2025 convention reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to excellence, and the New Delhi edition will further strengthen this dialogue with actionable insights.

Ms. Bharti Singh Kalappa, Founder Member, National Vice President and VP – Operations, PHA North Chapter, added that the Delhi convention will extend the learning curve established in Bangalore, with a strong focus on operational innovation, sustainability, skill enhancement, and technologies that enhance housekeeping performance across hotel segments.

The 8th National Housekeepers Convention is expected to attract over 300 participants, including housekeeping professionals, operations leaders, procurement heads, hospitality educators, and leading suppliers of housekeeping products and solutions.

Founded in 2015, the Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) is a national professional body committed to advancing housekeeping standards across hospitality and allied sectors through conventions, training programs, workshops, and industry collaboration.
