In a significant move to strengthen tourism ties, the Philippines has announced revised visa-free entry rules for Indian travellers, positioning the country as a more accessible destination for Indian tourists. Mr. Gaurav Malik, Country Director for India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal at Agoda, welcomed the development, calling it “a really positive move” that recognizes India as a key source market for tourism in the region.
Malik noted that the visa-free entry initiative aligns with the increasing interest Indian travellers have shown in Southeast Asia. “Time and again we have seen how removing friction at the border can play an important role in encouraging more visitors,” he said. He added that this strategic step is likely to further boost demand for the Philippines as a top travel destination among Indian tourists.
The decision is expected to provide a strong impetus to regional travel and enhance the Philippines’ competitiveness in the Southeast Asian tourism landscape, making travel planning easier and more appealing for Indian holidaymakers.
