PM Modi lays foundation for new terminal in Agra

On October 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the new civil enclave at Agra Airport, marking a significant milestone in the city’s aviation and tourism sector. With a budget allocation of ₹570 crore, the new terminal is set to revolutionize air travel in Agra, a city known for its historical and cultural significance.

The long-awaited project, which faced numerous delays due to challenges such as land identification, acquisition, and environmental clearances, has finally commenced. The development is expected to boost Agra’s tourism industry, as the new terminal will improve air connectivity and attract more visitors to the iconic Taj Mahal and other heritage sites.

In addition to tourism, the new terminal is poised to benefit local residents and businesses in Agra and nearby districts by providing better air travel facilities. The tourism industry is optimistic that this project will enhance the city’s appeal as a key destination, both for domestic and international tourists.
