2025 has seen private aviation flourish in India, particularly boosted by religious pilgrimage travel. From April through February, nearly 253,000 charter flights were recorded—a near 20% annual increase. General aviation flights increased markedly, with January movements surging 43% and February by nearly 14%.
Events like the Maha Kumbh played a pivotal role, with some operators reporting up to 10% of revenue tied directly to pilgrimage logistics. Operators highlighted top-demand sectors spanning Mumbai–Delhi, Bengaluru–Hyderabad, and emerging regional hubs like Indore, Surat, and Bhopal.
Growth projections remain optimistic, targeting a 15–20% rise in demand, supported by expanding regional coverage and infrastructure. While private jet usage still represents a niche, its rise signals evolving travel preferences—especially among highnetworth groups and business elites opting for comfort, flexibility, and leisure paired with religious purpose.
