Radisson Blu, Bengaluru, Outer Ring Road has become the first hotel in India to be awarded the prestigious LEED V4.1 Platinum Certificate for Operations & Maintenance of an Existing Building. The certification, issued by the US Green Building Council, recognizes the hotel’s outstanding commitment to sustainability and its comprehensive efforts to minimize environmental impact.
The hotel has implemented a series of impactful sustainability initiatives, including significant investments in renewable energy and innovative waste management. Radisson Blu Bengaluru is powered entirely by green energy, generated from its own solar plant, making it a net zero energy building. Additionally, the majority of the hotel’s guest vehicles are electric, and they are charged on-site using solar-generated electricity.
Radisson Blu Bengaluru has also taken innovative steps in waste management, operating an in-house biogas plant that converts organic waste into fuel for the staff canteen. The by-product, high-quality organic sludge, is used as fertilizer in the hotel’s gardens, making the hotel an industry leader in achieving 100% circularity in organic waste management.
In its ongoing effort to eliminate single-use plastics, the hotel has installed an in-house water bottling plant, providing glass bottles in guest rooms, restaurants, and banquet halls. This initiative alone has prevented more than a ton of plastic waste annually.

The hotel is also excelling in water conservation through a rainwater harvesting and reuse system that captures over 40% of rainwater from its roof, and a state-of-the-art water recycling process. Water from the hotel’s laundry is fully treated and reused, ensuring a circular system that significantly reduces water waste.
