Rajasthan Tourism Transforms Under Diya Kumari’s Visionary Leadership

The tourism sector in Rajasthan is undergoing significant transformation under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Her visionary approach and deep understanding of the industry have positioned Rajasthan prominently on the global tourism map. According to Ravi Jain, Secretary of Tourism Rajasthan, the Deputy Chief Minister’s personal association with the tourism and hospitality sector has infused fresh energy into the state, driving innovation and development.

At the recently held Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, the state’s growing tourism potential was a major focus. The summit highlighted investment opportunities in heritage sites, eco-tourism, and innovative travel experiences, with the tourism department signing 1,320 MOUs worth ₹96,967.61 crore, creating over 2,02,000 potential jobs. Investments span sectors such as hotels, resorts, eco-tourism, MICE, wellness tourism, and heritage conservation, signaling Rajasthan’s diverse opportunities.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has also prioritized enhancing tourism infrastructure and creating employment while boosting Rajasthan’s global presence. A ₹5000-crore budget has been allocated to cultural heritage and sustainable tourism, accelerating conservation efforts and promoting innovative projects. A single-window clearance system has further streamlined business processes for stakeholders.

Rajasthan’s international appeal is set to grow with the upcoming IIFA Awards 2025, scheduled for March 7-9 in Jaipur. This event aims to promote local art and culture while bolstering film tourism and contributing to the state’s economy. The state, known for its historical landmarks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Ramsar wetlands, and wildlife sanctuaries like Ranthambore and Sariska, is also focusing on biodiversity conservation.

Efforts to boost tourism have gained momentum through initiatives such as “Cultural Diaries,” a bi-weekly event showcasing folk art at Albert Hall, roadshows across major destinations, and support for 26 film and documentary shoots. Religious tourism has also seen significant development, with the inauguration of a laser water show at the Sanwaliya Seth Temple and projects at Keshoraipatan and the Karni Mata Temple. Events like the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB), Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM), and the Wed-In Expo have further enhanced the state’s appeal for domestic and international tourists.

The state is also ensuring safety for travelers through the Tourist Assistance Force, launched in February 2024, which addresses issues like harassment and promotes a secure environment for women and solo travelers. Skill development programs are underway to train 20,000 youth and folk artists in hospitality, guiding, and traditional arts. With these initiatives, Rajasthan is emerging as a global leader in tourism, blending heritage preservation, sustainability, and modernity.
