Reoccupation Opportunities for Ex-Servicemen Highlighted at MSME International Day Conference

The Indian Ex-Service League hosted a significant conference at Nyaya Marg, Chanakyapuri, on the occasion of MSME International Day, focusing on the reoccupation of ex-servicemen in the service industry. This event emphasized the transition of defense personnel to civilian roles post-retirement, with Union Bank of India pledging financial support for this cause.

The conference was graced by Brigadier Indra Mohan Singh, President of the Indian Ex-Service League, and Colonel Tejendra Pal Tyagi, President of the Rashtriya Sainik Sanstha. Key insights were shared by various industry leaders, highlighting diverse opportunities for veterans in the service sector.

Captain Swadesh Kumar from the Adventure Tour Operators Association emphasized the potential in adventure tourism, while Rajan Bahadur, CEO of Tourism and Hospitality, underscored the broad scope within the hospitality industry. Insights into human resources were provided by Shri Ajeet Vyas, Associate Vice President of Human Resources at Indian Hotels Company.

Dr. Gaurav Gupta from the Taj Group of Hotels elaborated on employment opportunities within the Taj network, and Dr. Pallavi Mehra discussed the integration of skilled ex-servicemen into the service sector. Air Marshal Verma and Anand Pandey also contributed valuable perspectives on the subject.

Dr. Subhash Goyal, who presided over the conference, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in ensuring a seamless transition for defense personnel into rewarding second careers. The collaborative efforts between the defense sector and service industries, supported by financial institutions like Union Bank of India, are pivotal in empowering ex-servicemen to thrive in their new roles.
