Responsible Tourism Festival will be held at Kanakakkunnu Palace grounds here from February 11 to 15.
Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the five-day festival organised by the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society with support from the Department of Tourism.
Responsible Tourism units from across the state will participate, showcasing initiatives aimed at promoting tourism as a sustainable and inclusive economic activity. The festival will have around 120 stalls displaying traditional products and artefacts produced by RT unit members and local artisans.
V K Prasanth MLA will preside over the inaugural function. Shashi Tharoor MP, A A Rahim MP and V V Rajesh, Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, will attend as chief guests. Tourism Director Sikha Surendran IAS will deliver the welcome address.
Food stalls serving regional cuisines and cultural programmes by RT unit artists will also be part of the festival.
