Robin Behl, Founder of The Tribe India, Successfully Summits Mount Manaslu

Robin Behl, a leading movement practitioner and co-founder of The Tribe India, has successfully reached the summit of Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest peak at 8,163 meters. The climb marks a significant achievement in Behl’s personal journey and showcases the resilience, dedication, and mental strength required for such a feat.

Behl’s journey to high-altitude climbing began in 2016 when he overcame his fear of heights during a trek to Everest Base Camp. That transformative experience sparked a passion for summiting 8,000-meter peaks, setting the stage for his Manaslu ascent in 2024. “This climb was about more than reaching a summit; it was about breaking through my own barriers,” Behl said, reflecting on the personal significance of the climb.

Months of rigorous preparation went into the expedition, which included specialized training in joint stability, endurance, and mental conditioning. Behl’s routine was adapted for the climb, incorporating long-distance running, cycling, meditation, fasting, and ice baths. A personal mantra, “Not today, Robin. You will not give up today,” kept him focused through each challenging stage of the journey.

The final push to the summit demanded 11.5 hours of climbing through freezing temperatures and treacherous slopes, with the subsequent descent—lasting nearly 17 hours—pushing Behl to his limits. “The summit was surreal, but the descent truly tested me,” he said, recounting moments of hallucination and fatigue during the return.

Reaching the summit in the early hours of September 24 was a triumph, yet Behl emphasized that the descent highlighted his journey’s true challenges. “The real mission was not only getting to the top but also safely coming back down,” he shared.

Behl’s accomplishment serves as an inspiration and brings newfound clarity, patience, and resilience to his role at The Tribe India, where he remains dedicated to helping others develop the physical and mental strength to face their own challenges.

As he looks to future extreme environments, from deep oceans to the peaks of K2, Behl continues to push the boundaries of physical and mental endurance. His Mount Manaslu ascent stands as a testament to overcoming fears and realizing the power within.
