Sarbananda Sonowal Visits Singapore for Maritime Cooperation & Global Industry Dialogue

Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, is in Singapore for three days as part of the Singapore Maritime Week. The visit, which was invited by the Singaporean government, is intended to improve India-Singapore marine cooperation.
To discuss prospects in the sector, Sonowal will meet with leading maritime figures and hold a bilateral discussion with his Singaporean counterpart. Additionally, he will engage in conversations with senior Singaporean ministers Lee Hsien Loong, Murali Pillai, and Dr. Amy Khor, as well as present at a high-level forum on “Navigating Global Maritime Trends in 2025 and Beyond.” To strengthen bilateral maritime ties, a visit with Dutch Brigit Gijsbers is also planned.
In order to integrate international best practices into India’s marine industry, Sonowal will engage with business executives and leaders during his tour. Additionally, he will pay respects at the INA Memorial and establish connections with the Indian diaspora. Senior representatives from the Indian High Commission in Singapore and the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) will be joining him.
