
The Saudi Tourism Authority, through its consumer-facing brand ‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia’, curated an exclusive experiential showcase titled “Essence of Saudi” in Kolkata, building on the momentum of its Spectacular Saudi campaign. The event was held at Ozora, Acropolis Mall.
Designed as an immersive destination storytelling experience, the showcase introduced Saudi Arabia through fragrance-led narratives, with signature scents representing key destinations including Riyadh, Jeddah, Taif, AlUla (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Saudi Red Sea. Each fragrance reflected the culture, landscape and character of the respective region.
The hands-on experience allowed participants to create bespoke fragrances, offering an engaging way to explore Saudi’s cultural depth, heritage and sustainability-led tourism vision under Saudi Vision 2030.
The event received strong interest from Kolkata-based travel trade partners, highlighting growing demand for Saudi Arabia among Indian travellers seeking luxury and culturally rich experiences. Strengthening connectivity, Saudia and Air India have announced a codeshare agreement effective February 2026, enabling seamless connections to Saudi destinations via Delhi and Mumbai.
India and Saudi Arabia are currently connected by six airlines with over 313 weekly flights, further reinforcing Saudi’s positioning as a year-round destination.
