Saudia Reports Strong Growth in Passenger Numbers and Operational Performance in H1 2025

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has reported impressive operational and passenger growth for the first half of 2025, carrying over 17.5 million guests, a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This achievement was supported by more than 100,000 flights—both scheduled and additional services—across its extensive network covering four continents, representing a 4% rise in overall flight operations. The airline also recorded over 293,500 flight hours and achieved an exceptional on-time performance (OTP) rate of 89.6%, ranking first globally for OTP in March and June 2025 according to aviation analytics leader Cirium.

Internationally, Saudia transported 9.6 million passengers—a 5% year-on-year increase—operating over 43,700 flights (+3%) to destinations worldwide. On the domestic front, the airline carried 7.9 million passengers, marking a 10% growth, with 56,400 flights operated across the Kingdom, underscoring Saudia’s key role in connecting Saudi Arabia to the world while meeting the surge in domestic travel demand.

Saudia attributes its success to the expertise of its national workforce, excellence in operations, and strategic investments in advanced digital systems, all contributing to enhanced efficiency and an improved guest experience. The airline operates a fleet of 148 aircraft and is preparing for a major expansion with 117 new aircraft planned for delivery in the coming years—boosting frequencies, expanding seat capacity on existing routes, and launching new destinations in line with Saudi Arabia’s tourism, entertainment, sports, and Hajj & Umrah initiatives.

Founded in 1945, Saudia serves around 100 destinations worldwide, including all 28 domestic airports, as a proud member of IATA, AACO, and the SkyTeam Alliance since 2012. The airline’s excellence has been recognised globally, receiving the “World’s Most Improved Airline 2024” award from Skytrax for the third time, “World Class Airline 2024” from APEX for the third year running, and multiple top global OTP rankings from Cirium. These accolades reflect Saudia’s commitment to delivering world-class service, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction.
