
Yangang, a serene hamlet in Sikkim’s Namchi district, is set to host the International Youth Conclave for Tourism Development from April 12 to 14, 2025, as part of the 50th Statehood Anniversary celebrations. Organized by the Yangang Tourism Development Committee in collaboration with the Sikkim Tourism Department, the event will welcome 176 delegates from India and abroad to discuss sustainable tourism practices and future growth strategies.
Under the central theme, “Celebrating Sikkim’s 50 Years of Statehood,” the conclave will highlight the state’s tourism evolution, challenges, and opportunities. It aims to position Yangang as a hub for sustainable tourism and cultural preservation.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tourism development, aligning with the vision of Sunaulo, Samriddha, and Samartha Sikkim. He emphasized the event’s role in boosting economic growth while preserving Sikkim’s cultural heritage.
The conclave will feature heritage walks, cultural rallies, panel discussions, and interactive sessions with tourism professionals, fostering dialogue on emerging tourism destinations and responsible travel practices.
