Singapore Tourism Board and IndiGo Sign Landmark MoU to Boost Travel Between India and Singapore

In a significant move to strengthen tourism and air connectivity between India and Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and IndiGo, India’s leading airline, have signed a year-long Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Singapore as a premier leisure and business destination for Indian travellers. This marks the first-ever MoU between STB and an Indian airline, and likewise, IndiGo’s first formal partnership with a national tourism board.

The collaboration comes at a time when India remains among Singapore’s top three tourism source markets. In the first half of 2025 alone, over 500,000 Indian visitors travelled to Singapore, supported by excellent air connectivity through 270+ weekly flights linking Singapore to 15 Indian cities via Changi Airport, Southeast Asia’s most connected aviation hub.

With IndiGo already operating flights from 9 Indian cities to Singapore and Singapore ranking among its top three international routes, the partnership is expected to boost inbound tourism significantly. Coinciding with Singapore’s National Day on 09 August 2025, IndiGo will introduce IndiGoStretch, its tailor-made business class product, on flights connecting Singapore to Delhi and Mumbai, offering a more premium experience for Indian business and leisure travellers.

The year-long partnership builds on the success of the earlier Untold Singapore campaign and will showcase Singapore’s vibrant attractions—both iconic and off-the-beaten-path—to the new-age Indian traveller. It includes co-branded content, special travel deals, influencer collaborations, and innovative digital formats to enhance pre-travel engagement. The initiative also targets B2B stakeholders through roadshows across India, trade training programmes, MICE benefits, and familiarisation trips for travel agents.

Melissa Ow, CEO of Singapore Tourism Board, said, “As we celebrate 60 years of India-Singapore diplomatic relations, this enhanced collaboration with IndiGo allows us to tap into India’s dynamic travel market. With a growing appetite for unique experiences, Indian visitors will find endless possibilities in Singapore—from vibrant street culture to cutting-edge attractions.”

Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, added, “Our strong cultural and commercial ties with Singapore have created a high demand for travel between the two countries. This partnership with STB, combined with our expanding network and premium IndiGoStretch offering, will enhance the travel experience and cater to evolving preferences of Indian travellers.”

With this MoU, STB and IndiGo aim to deepen tourism ties, support mutual growth, and position Singapore as a top travel choice for both first-time and repeat Indian visitors seeking immersive and meaningful travel experiences.
